Exploring the Atacama Desert
Beautiful dry lands and pristine clear skies
What a place to explore, during September I’d had a chance to explore the Atacama Desert near San Pedro de Atacama.
I’ve packed too much gear for this trip as always, nothing new here. I have to haul it round for another month in Bolivia and Peru afterwards. The price you pay for having fun. Also it’s my honeymoon for me and wife which we obviously want to document. She was flying in after my planned astrophotography trip to travel South America together. It is my first time seeing the southern skies and I was pretty excited. I had planned multiple compositions I wanted to explore.
During our stay we watched the sunset on multiple occasions from various site near San Pedro de Atacama. We were mainly active at night since the trip was mainly about night photography. though and not so much during the day. We visited the Geysers, and the beautiful Piedras Rosas, but also the rock formations near San Pedro and the lovely town itself. Since the group I went with I am now quite familiar with, it was a very relaxed vibe for the entirety of the week which allowed to create some of my best work to date. Hope you enjoy!
